Sync and backup

Keep devices in step, move to a new phone, and make backup files.

Sync across devices

Keeps records in step automatically between devices on the same account: iCloud on iPhone and iPad, Google Drive on Android. It's free.

  1. Open Menu → App settings → Sync across devices.
  2. Turn sync on. Tap Sync now to sync right away.
  3. Turn it on the same way on your other device with the same account.

Your records never pass through our servers; they're stored only in your own iCloud or Google Drive.

What doesn't sync

Photo and video files, subscriptions, and workouts in progress stay on each device.

Moving to a new phone

Between phones on the same system, use sync or a device backup. Between iPhone and Android, use a backup file.

  1. On your old phone, tap Menu → Transfer & backup → Create backup file.
  2. Send the file to your new phone by messenger, email, or cloud storage.
  3. On the new phone, open it with Menu → Transfer & backup → Import backup file.
  4. Choose Replace.

On the same system, just turning on sync across devices is enough. If device backup (iCloud Backup or Google's automatic backup) is on, your records also come along when you restore the app on a new device. Subscriptions don't move with the file; see restoring purchases.

The Transfer & backup screen has a three-step Switching between iPhone and Android guide.

Creating a backup file

Menu → Transfer & backup → Create backup file puts all your records into one file. It's free.

It includes workouts, routines, schedules, body records, photos, and settings. You can add a password, but a forgotten password means the file can't be opened, so write it down.

Importing a backup file

Pick a .fitboost file in Menu → Transfer & backup → Import backup file, then choose replace or merge.

Keeping your records safe

Records live on this device, so deleting the app deletes them too.
