Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account?

No. Install the app and start logging right away. Your records are stored on your device, and we never ask you to sign up.

What happens to my records when I change devices?

Between devices on the same platform, turn on Menu → App settings → Sync across devices. iPhone and iPad sync through iCloud, and Android devices sync through Google Drive, as long as they use the same account. Sync is free. Photo and video files and your subscription status are not transferred.

To move between iPhone and Android, or to keep a file of your own, use Menu → Transfer & backup → Create backup file, send the file to your new device, and open it with Import backup file on the same screen. Creating a file, replacing your records with it and adding a password are free. Merging a file into your current records is a PRO feature.

If device backup (iCloud or Google automatic backup) is on, your records also come along when you restore the app on a new device.

How much can I do for free?

Workout records are free and unlimited. You can create up to 3 routines and 5 custom exercises.

1,690 exercises with how-to guides, estimated weights for 3, 5, 8 and 10 reps, the plate calculator, sync across devices, kg and lb units, and Send to trainer are also free.

What do PRO and PRO+ add?

PRO works out how much to lift next. It includes routine auto progression, a personal 1–15 rep load curve, the in-workout coach, targets that learn from your own records, strength balance fixes, plateau detection, loads matched to your equipment and a weekly coaching report, plus unlimited routines, custom exercises and received client records.

PRO+ includes everything in PRO and adds a block-periodized program, daily intensity tuned to your readiness, weekly sets per muscle, nutrition targets and automatic warm-up sets.

Both are available as monthly or annual subscriptions.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Payments go through your Apple or Google account, so you cancel there as well.

  • iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

Your subscription may renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

I changed devices and PRO is gone

Tap Menu → FitBoost PRO → Restore purchases. You need to be signed in to the Apple or Google account you purchased with.

A subscription is tied to the store account that paid for it, so a subscription bought on iPhone cannot be restored on Android, and the other way around.

How is my next weight calculated?

We estimate your 1RM from completed sets of 12 reps or fewer, taking the median of the Epley, Brzycki and Lombardi formulas. If you log RIR, the reps you had left are counted too. As records build up, we also use each exercise's own rep-load profile.

Recommendations are reference values for planning your training, not medical advice. If you feel pain or unusual fatigue, lower the weight and consult a professional.

Can I log in pounds?

Yes. Choose kilograms or pounds in Menu → App settings → General → Weight unit. The plate calculator uses the unit you choose.

How do I change the language?

In Menu → App settings → Language, choose from 한국어, English, 日本語, 简体中文 and 繁體中文. Choose System default to follow your device language.

How do I change the theme color?

Choose from six colors in Menu → App settings → Theme.

Can I share my records with a trainer?

Yes. In Menu → Send to trainer, pick a date range and the app creates a report (PDF) and a client file to send through any app you like, such as a messenger or email. Nothing passes through our servers.

Your trainer opens the file with FitBoost and views it in Menu → Client records. Received records are kept separate from the trainer's own log. The free version shows 1 client; PRO has no limit.

The current release has no social features such as finding friends.

Does it work on a smartwatch?

FitBoost supports Apple Watch (with iPhone), Wear OS watches such as Galaxy Watch (with Android), and Garmin watches (with iPhone or Android). Finish a set on your watch and pick the effort, and the rest timer starts and buzzes when it's time to go. Workouts you finish on the watch are added to your phone's records.

On your phone, turn on Smartwatch sync in Menu → App settings → Smartwatch. For Garmin, install FitBoost on your watch from the Connect IQ Store, then tap Connect a Garmin watch on the same screen. Workouts done on a Garmin watch are also saved to Garmin Connect as strength activities.

Can it build a workout program for me?

In Home → Programs → Build a program for me, pick your goal, experience, days per week, session length and equipment, and the app builds a weekly program and saves it as routines.

On the free version you can save within the 3-routine limit. Seeing a different layout and refreshing the exercises are PRO features.
